CivicFM

Terms

These terms cover this site and every show's site, their podcast feeds, CivicFM's videos, and its API. Using any of them means you accept them.

Updated

What CivicFM is

CivicFM reports on local governments' public meetings. Its podcasts, pages, and videos are produced with AI from the meetings' public recordings and documents, and checked against them, but they can still be wrong. The meeting's own recording, agenda, and minutes are the record: CivicFM is a summary of them, not an official account, and not legal advice. Each item links to its moment in the recording, so you can check it there.

Corrections

If you find an error, write to hello@civic.fm, or use the link on the episode's page. Corrections are made on the episode's page and said in the next episode.

Using what CivicFM makes

You're welcome to listen, read, link, quote, and share. That includes posting a highlight's video from its Download button, as long as you say it's from CivicFM and don't edit it to change what was said. The meetings' own recordings belong to the governments that made them.

The API

The API, and the MCP server that AI assistants use, are free and need no key. Please keep your requests to a reasonable pace: traffic that strains the service may be limited or blocked.

Email

Following a search, or asking to hear when your town gets a show, sends email only to an address that has confirmed it, and every email lets you stop. The privacy page says what's kept.

YouTube

CivicFM's videos on YouTube are also covered by YouTube's Terms of Service.

No warranty

CivicFM is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. As far as the law allows, CivicFM isn't liable for any loss that comes from using it or relying on it.
