CivicFM's shows are paid for by sponsors, sold directly, one show at a time. These are the rules every sponsor's message keeps.
- Every message says it's paid. On air it opens “This episode is sponsored by…”. In writing it's marked “Sponsored”.
- The hosts read what the sponsor says it offers, never praise of their own. They're AI voices and haven't used anything. A message is 50 words at most.
- One sponsor an episode, between the headlines and the first story, never inside a story.
- Sponsors don't see or shape the news. The AI that writes and checks each episode is never told who sponsors it.
- A sponsor is kept out of any episode, page, or email about its own business before the governments a show covers. Code checks each week's agendas, transcripts, and notes for its names, and a week it's held from moves to the end of its run.
- No political ads: no candidates, officials, campaigns, or ballot measures.
- Nothing about you goes to a sponsor. There are no ad networks and no tracking scripts. Sponsors learn how many people heard and clicked, never who.
- A message has to be true to air, and CivicFM may decline any sponsor.
