Interim housing for homeless young adults at 7033 Owensmouth Avenue, Canoga Park Item 62
Directs the City Administrative Officer to identify up to $4,000,000 in one-time state homelessness (HHAP) transitional-age-youth funds to buy 7033 Owensmouth Avenue in Canoga Park for interim housing for young adults experiencing homelessness. It also asks the Community Investment Department to look at federal block grant (CDBG) funding, and asks for a report in 30 days on what else is needed to acquire, rehabilitate and run the site (agenda). The Homelessness and Health Committee waived consideration. No councilmember spoke on it; an in-person speaker and two callers addressed it, and a third caller was told his remarks fell under it.
