Responses to public comment: 72-hour parking tows, campaign complaints, election conduct Item L
ParkingElections and ballot measures
After general public comment, staff and council members responded. A resident had described returning from a trip to find a car towed under a rule against parking in one spot for more than 72 hours, at a cost he put at a $175 fine plus $726 to the tow yard. Police staff explained how the rule is enforced and agreed to publicize it. Other responses covered where to report suspected campaign finance violations, calls for civility in the council election, and an apology from a council member to a commenter. No votes were taken; the matters were not on the agenda.
